The Friends of Glencoe Scouting is an Illinois-based 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose primary mission is to support Glencoe’s Troop 28 Boy Scouts.

Scouting adventures often require substantial travel, equipment, and activity fees. Friends of Glencoe Scouting will provide support for Troop 28 Scouts in the form of individual scholarships for large expenses such as summer camp at the BSA’s High Adventure Camps, as well as for primary equipment such as tents and trailers.

Many adults have asked how they can contribute to Troop 28 to help our scouts succeed. This not a solicitation for donations by Glencoe’s Boy Scout Troop, which may not solicit funds. Rather, Friends of Glencoe Scouting is an independent nonprofit that will enable us to accept donations on behalf of Troop 28 to ensure no scout will miss these potentially life-changing opportunities due to financial need. All donations made to Friends of Glencoe Scouting will be utilized to support Troop 28 scouts, and are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Our leadership is comprised of several adult leaders for Troop 28, including our President, Andrew Hayek and Vice President and Treasurer, Benjamin Miller.

Please see our FAQ page for more information on how to donate. If you have any questions regarding donations, please contact us at friends (at) glencoescouting.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
